  • Mock Meat? Peas, carrots & gravy

Isn't it just amazing how some of these single serving tubs, or  tubes and canned pet foods for both dogs and cats have all the gorgeous "meats, veggies and gravy"... wow!.. How do they do it? Seems like it would cost $10 a tub... nope, just about 25 cents, mostly for the packaging. You could put them in the human food isle and never hardly know better. Especially if you're a vegetarian that's used to Seitan and Tofu which do have a form of "protein" allowing for dressing up the guaranteed analysis to appear to enhance the nutritional value because they do not have to disclose the source or quality of the protein value. This type of "protein" is very incomplete and barely usable by our carnivorous dogs and cats and are cooked intensely which kills the scarce nutrition.  Seitan and Tofu are used to to make what's known as mock meats and can be cut and molded and even imprinted with very realistic flesh and skin patterns to emulate real meat.  The Seitan in particular is very realistic looking but it's made by coagulating wheat gluten (an absolutely horrid ingredient for dogs and cats  -- toxic shock) and what's more is it's further disguised with rich looking gravy which is also highly wheat gluten based. Then sprinkle a few cents worth of peas and carrots and the counterfeit is complete, but your pets health is not fooled just their unwitting humans. We have all seen the commercials with the master chef that's serving his dog a seemingly super healthy gourmet meal -- (rhymes with pitiful). Continue reading

  • Is it really grain free?

Fats from grain fed meats are toxic, fat holds the toxins, they spray this toxic fat on the dog food -- by grain free do they also mean no grain fed steroid/hormone superheated dried denatured meat residue powder...not... Dog food is made from component parts not whole foods as Balance Diet pet foods. Dog food is made from processed by-product component parts not whole foods as Balance Diet pet foods is. This is stressing the endocrine system and drives inflammation -- BD's whole pure raw cultured ingredients are anti inflammatory.

  • Get Real

As a small company we can be supplied by small family owned grass fed ranches. The best ingredients that could never support huge brands are available to us. Our advantage being small is, small batches, with the best ingredients, only available in limited quantities. Real meat in pet food also does not mean fresh, raw, hormone, steroid, antibiotic, grain free. All manner of waste products from industry is fed to livestock that is fed to humans let alone the by-products of that going into pet foods.

  • About The Raw Food Diet?

From 30% to 85% percent of the nutrition in foods is destroyed during cooking, an average 50% percent loss. Fresh, raw, whole foods contain the highest levels of nutrients and enzymes. Enzymes are the catalyst for the hundreds of thousands of chemical reactions that occur throughout the body. Cooked foods and dry convenience diets have been denatured and are devoid of enzymes and life promoting elements. While they may maintain life, they do not promote optimum health or longevity. Raw food has much more to offer than a dog or cat's body can actually metabolize. So while raw food itself is full of nutrients, much is wasted if they are not bio-available nutrients. Further, raw food is up to 80% water Continue reading

  • Premium Balanced Raw Dog Food

Your dog primarily needs fresh unadulterated cultured meat based nutrition the most expensive, most difficult least used ingredient. BD provides high levels of fresh meats, safe and easy for you. Not reprocessed heated grain scrap as protein, or rendered heat reprocessed meat and bone byproduct meals depleted of fats and nutrients. “Grain Free” dog foods can simply mean more of the toxic meat and bone meal byproduct, as less of one ingredient obviously means more of others. This causes your dog’s system to work overtime to cope, leading to serious health complications by way of toxins and malnutrition. Even the guaranteed analysis will not tell you what you need to know about where and how the proteins are derived nor the digestibility. Continue reading

  • Buy Raw Dog Food Diet

Dog foods by and large are made with  rendered, recycled by products and meals from various end run sources, and imported from developing countries. Meat by products are superheated to decontaminate, dehydrate and separate waste animal tissue from bone and fat, producing a shippable, storable, stable protein residue commodity, not dog nutrition.

Balance Diet  has no such ingredients. There is no separate fat listing for example, because we use real meat with naturally marbled fat, not sprayed on grease at the end of a hot steam extrusion process then force heat dried. BD is only die cut cold and gently air dried. Commercial dog foods may contain high concentrations of low quality carbohydrate feed fines, and crumbs, that in many cases have been cooked and reprocessed up to 4 times. Continue reading
