There is nothing quite like Balance Diet Dog Food. I really can’t say enough good things about it. When the formula changed I thought we would be in for some big trouble but nothing could be farther from the truth. After developing cancer our oncologist said to take our main man (Taco) off BD. We did and he lost all of his color literally fading to a very light grey. After three months we thought we might as well try BD once again. All of our dogs thought they had died and gone to heaven. They once again ate with lots of gusto, even our cancer dog who is now a rich black color and you wouldn’t believe the difference it has made in our puppies. They are absolutely beautiful. All this and clean teeth too!!! Balance Diet is truly a remarkable food.

We have Xoloitzcuintli, a rare breed, hairless dog of Mexican heritage. From the very beginning we noticed that whatever these dogs eat shows up immediately on their skin. We have switched dog foods so many times because of rashes, hives and various growths on their bodies including their toes which by the way our Vet attributed to allergies. When when ran across BalanceDiet on the Internet we almost didn’t try it because we had tried so many other foods with no real results but as a last ditch effort we gave it a shot. This is one time we are glad we did switch dog foods. The result was truly a miracle. Our poor male who had suffered for years with itchy skin and feet and many other horrible skin lesions now has the most beautiful, healthy looking shine to his skin as does our female who had also developed problems. It took about 6 months of feeding BalanceDiet to reach optimum condition. We went through the detox etc. in about 2 months and never expected to see this much improvement. We have been feeding BalanceDiet for almost a year and we are more than pleased. As a side effect their teeth are as pearly white as I have ever seen them. My Whippet also is enjoying the benefits of BD as well. I have always found the company to be exceptionally polite and helpful. I hope they are around for a very long time.

  • Jeanney is a Tibetan Terrier. She was born in Mainz on the Rhine River in Germany on June 14, 1983. She celebrated her 18th birthday still being a happy and healthy dog.

Jeanney is on no medication but has been eating BalanceDiet Supreme V for the last 2 years. When Jeanney first started to eat BD she had an annoying cough. My vet checked her out thoroughly and could not find anything wrong with her. He actually commented on what a good heart she has for her age.

After a few months on BD she rarely coughed anymore and it is now pretty much gone. She is in better coat and seems to feel better than she did before she started on BD. Jeanney had complete blood workup today and everything was within a normal range. My vet thought it to be remarkable.

Jeanney is now trying out the new TheraHeart.

Thank you to all the people from nutriVet for making such a wonderful food that lets us enjoy her at such an old age.

  • I want to let you know that I received the gift Supreme-V Canine your company sent me and I’ll really be able to try it on a longer basis prior to our Breed National Shows (Dogue de Borgeaux) in St. Louis the last week of May. Our 7-month-old pup and our year old Akita have already shown a substantial improvement in their coat texture and sheen as a result of our daily use of Velumin and alternating with Regale and Mellifluous. I believe that our pup will be in excellent shape by the time our competition begins in St. Louis. I’ll keep you posted on how they are doing on the full-spectrum of BD products we have them on and I have no doubt we will be asked quite frequently at the shows that product we are using to have our dogs in such great condition and coat. Rest assured we’ll spread the word about BD. I’ll keep you posted on the results.

  • How can I ever thank you enough for developing our dog food and food enhancers that not only have changed my dog’s life but my life too! I have two Standard Poodles both finished champions, my bitch weighs 45 lbs., my dog weighs 65 lbs. (Bitch is female, Dogs are male). Their fathers are multiple best in show champions. I have been feeding Solid Gold dog food with Solid Gold supplements, flax oil, sea meal herbal bytes, etc. They developed such hatred for Solid Gold my time was spent cooking for them, meats, veggies, etc., enhancing the dog food. Every day was cooking and adding it to the Solid gold. Nothing worked, they would not eat. Their bowels were strange, one-day loose stools with mucus, the next day rock hard with a terrible foul odor. Then I found Supreme-V BalanceDiet alone Velumin, Mellifluous, Regale. The first day I had them on BalanceDiet their bowels changed in a very dramatic way-no odor, smaller and a healthy texture. I was amazed that it would work that fast. Every day I look forward to their bowel movements and they’re always the same, small, no odor and a good texture. By the way they love the food!

  • Because of your great information and very helpful assistance that by using the Aura Librium, Mellifluous and BalanceDiet Canine …Jersey is back on his regular diet with no more upset intestine – thank heavens! So at our house forget about the personal menu making (using chicken, cottage cheese and rice, then freezing 7lbs. of it weekly and other miscellaneous “short order” cooking for the dog, no less !!)

Best of all and as usual he goes WILD over the BalanceDiet even though he was getting real people food before. So can he go back to having once in awhile a few of the “Kickshaw Treats” (which I still have some left)? Or should I wait longer until his intestinal system is completely settled which it seems to be now?

  • I thought you might like to know about our dog. She is a Shiba Inu show dog (Kiss of Magic, AKA Smooch) that a breeder (Jeanette Watson from Blackcrest Kennels) gave to us. Smooch was a champion show dog and now she is a wonderful pet. She is a vigorous and playful 7 years old. She is like a living stuffed animal, her double coat is soft and silky. People are always falling in love with her. We hope to have many more years to enjoy her company. She is incredibly healthy and beautiful which I attribute to your dog food. Smooch has always been fed BalanceDiet dog food. When she has had puppies she was given BalanceDiet supplements. One under appreciated benefit of your dog food is poop consistency and size. In our town, all dog poop must be scooped. We typically do this by hand with a plastic bag during walks. Good thing the poops are small, firm, and very low odor! Otherwise this would be a pretty unpleasant task.

Keep up the good work and thanks for the great dog food.

  • Dear Nutrivet,

I am writing this letter to let you know how very much I appreciate your product Supreme-V dog kibble. I have been a committed “raw feeder” for many years now, and not until I discovered your products, would I ever consider serving a commercial dog food!

In past years, I have regrettably experienced the devastation caused by poor diet in animals. Having lost precious pets to such conditions as cancer and diabetes, I began to research the “diet connection”, only to find improper nutrition to be the GREATEST cause! And not just for the major diseases, but for all the troublesome maladies that seem to be accepted as the “norm”. I am often sickened to tears, as I hear conversations about Rovers horrible skin condition, and Spots painful ear infections …. and the immense vet bills incurred to “help” these poor creatures.

We have raised generations of deficient animals under the guidance of powerful pet food manufacturers, who, as far as I am concerned, have been allowed to practice “legal abuse”.

As a shift towards better nutrition for humans and animals alike has been in progress, I was thrilled to learn about, and incorporate a raw feeding program for my dogs. Though highly successful, It is not for everyone. There are dangers and deficiencies which can happen if you are not informed. It is also more labor intensive than most are willing and able to do. And let’s face it, we all have those days when time is in short supply!

When I first read about your products, I was extremely excited. I visited your web-site and was immediately impressed. Real live food….nutrients and enzymes….kibble form I could keep on hand! WOW!….a dream come true! I had nothing to mix, nothing to add, just honest nutrition which would be entirely complimentary to a raw diet. But oh, what if “Mr. picky” won’t eat it. HA! He LOVED it! This has been a most amazing, “makes me happy” discovery. I first purchased the Supreme-V as an “emergency” food to keep on hand, but found all the dogs so eager to eat it, that I began feeding it at least 3 times a week. In a very short period of time I began to witness the following benefits:

    Decreased aggression and irritability
    A lively, happy-go-lucky attitude
Increased energy and stamina, decreased hyper, nervous behavior
Detox in the form of draining ears, eyes, and nose, as well as skin rashes and worm infested stools! Really! To this I’d like to add, that detox is ALWAYS a welcome sign. Once the discomfort has passed, (usually in a day or two), there is a renewed spirit and state of health … a sort of gleam in their eyes.
    Beautiful soft silky coat
No bloating or gas …. well formed stools

And as I continue to feed your products, I am sure the list will become longer! I have suggested them to the many who love their animals, and have gotten glowing reports from them as well. And for those who feel the cost a deterrent, I will only say…..you can either pay the grocer now or the doctor later. You can enjoy their good health, or suffer their pain. Having experienced both ….. the choice is a no-brainer.

I would also like to thank you for your wonderful customer service. When I had called with a concern, I found myself engaged in delightful conversation. Your knowledge and expertise ever apparent, not only addressed my concern, but proved to me that your intentions and products are “on the right track”. Your products stand Unique, and well ABOVE all the rest. My best wishes for your continued success …. for the sake of the animals, as well as ours.

    Sincerely,
    Janet

  • Dear VNC—

I placed my second order last night for your Supreme-V, this time for the complete system. I have three adopted greyhounds, all of whom previously had major dietary problems. Isaac is my oldest, and admittedly king of the household. I adopted him 9 years ago, after he had survived the double whammy of having been a former racer, who, when be was not able to produce on the track, was sold to Purina as a caged laboratory dog on which they conducted nutrition experiments for a year. By the time he came to me, he was fearful, had the teeth of a dog three times his age, reeky breath, and had continual problems with whatever food I tried at the time. I went through all the so-called all natural premium brands, and several versions of home cooking, all of which proved inadequate. He would pick at his food, eat for two or three days, and invariably come down with “the gurgles”, a sign of the coming loose stools and inability to eat for the next day or two. I just assumed that was the best I could hope for. I came across information on your company on Earl Wolf’s wonderful web site. It sounded too good to hope for, but I placed my first order in March. The first thing I noticed myself was the most intoxicating, enticing smell! It reminded me of sherry-drenched holiday fruitcake, and I must admit I was tempted to give it a try (and probably would have if I weren’t a vegan!) When I put it out for all three of my guys, my formerly finicky trio literally charged for their bowls.

What can I say? The transformation has been a miracle. Isaac has eaten every single kibble from that meal on. If one falls away from his bowl and gets lodged in unattainable places, he will paw and wiggle until he’s captured each one. The gurgles are history. So are the loose stools. He no longer has accordion ribs, and when I took him to the vet yesterday, he told me that the turnaround in his condition was unbelievable.

The changes in Zoe and Moses are not quite as dramatic, but only because they are younger, and their former problems weren’t as severe. But Moses, too, had very loose stools no matter what he ate, and his digestive system was in frequent distress. Literally overnight the change began, and within a week, for the first time in the year that he had lived with me, he was going like a dog should, and has not had one recurrence since then. He eats with such relish, that feeding him has become the most pleasant part of my day. Zoe is my little omnivore. She’ll eat anything and everything, and somehow avoided the worst of the problems my other two encountered, but she, too, just didn’t look in her peak. She goes completely euphoric over her dinners now, and leaps with all 4 paws off the ground whenever she sees the bowl coming. People on the street always stop to compliment all three of them, and I invariable give credit to their diet.

When I placed my new order last night, I upgraded to the complete system. I can hardly wait to see what improvements this will bring about. I also have three cats that I am about to introduce to your feline formula. I didn’t know until yesterday that you had a cat version. I am most anxious to see the results this will produce on them.

I can’t thank you enough for restoring my precious housemates to me, and for adding so much to the quality of all of our lives.

    Sincerely,

    Jane L.

  • My pug has had many problems with her anal glands. Every month I was taking her to the vet to have them drained. I heard about your dog food from other pug owners and decided to give it a try. Since she’s been on your food, she no longer has problems with her glands. Also, she seems to have more energy and her coat has gotten beautiful. People always comment on how healthy she looks and I say, “It’s what she eats!”

  • Dagwood is a 12-year-old Pit Bull cross, almost starved as a stray puppy, who has had severe arthritis for almost his entire life. He has done pretty well for a dog that basically has no elbows, knees, or hips. For some years now he has needed something for pain during the cold months, and I have tried to give him the best nutrition I could, buying a better-grade dry dog food for him and cooking up meals of chicken, rice, and vegetables. However, this past September (1999), he was looking really pathetic, his yellow hair looked and felt just like straw, and he didn’t want to eat or to move around. I started the pain pills again, even though the weather was still warm, but they didn’t help much this time. It was then I stumbled across the Nutrivet Store and brought home a box of Supreme. Whatever I put into his dish that first day, he ate, and ate and ate. He loved it! I finally stopped, even though I was delighted to see him once again enthusiastic about eating, afraid he would get sick from eating so much. Now, four months later, his coat is sleek and shiny, and he runs and dances around the yard. Despite the continuing cold weather, I have been able to cut back on his pain medication and plan to try leaving it once again. He eats the Supreme instead of a dry kibble, and I have started adding nutriVet’s supplements to his home-cooked chicken meals.

Dagwood loves them both, and I do too.

  • Thank you for your effort to ensure that our dogs didn’t have to go more than one day without BalanceDiet. The deliveries were perfectly orchestrated. Saturday the four pounds arrived, followed by ten pounds on Monday. All your effort was enormously appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Elizabeth B.

  • Everyone in our house – human and canine – is thrilled with your exceptional food. My two golden retrievers will eat anything, but they REALLY freak out over your Supreme-V. Since being on this food, their coats have developed a beautiful shine and their energy has picked up. The difference in their coats is really dramatic! No more hot spots – hooray! Thanks for being there. We’re very satisfied customers.

  • I was just writing to let you know, some months ago, I hesitantly switched to your dog food. Babylon was getting home cooked meals at night and had a premium, natural dry food, out during the day. She was very healthy, but has always had a tendency to be all muscle with extremely little body fat. When I decided to breed her I knew that there was no way I could get her to eat sufficien quantities of dog food to support growing puppies, and she just didn’t have any body fat to spare. I needed a concentrated source of nutrition that a picky dog would eat, and that she could eat a lot of without developing bloat or torsion. Babylon had eleven healthy 2 pound puppies on May 5th. It takes an incredible dog food to support the proper growth and development of 11 puppies that size. The veterinarian was astounded. Most giant breed dogs have small litters. One of the causes of this is that large dogs have a slower metabolism, and often can not provide enough of the proper nutrition to ensure that all the fertilized eggs develop properly. Often puppies are lost and reabsorbed before they can even be detected. Unfortunately, 3 puppies were lost due to complications during delivery, but that had nothing to do with nutrition. At four weeks now, I am gradually weaning them onto your dog food. They weigh about 12 pounds each already!!! I only wish that you had an all natural, easy to digest source of calcium for pregnant and nursing bitches. Babylon has a very hard time using calcium supplements*, and much of the supplement is wasted. I have had to try to boost her calcium intake by adding calcium rich foods to her diet, as she seems to use naturally occurring calcium better. I think she is a little tired of cottage cheeese and steamed spinach.

    Sincerely,
    Kimberly

Answer: BalanceDiet – Supreme is an excellent source of calcium carbonate.

Whole fresh eggs – the highest rated source of usable protein, above all meats. The shell is a great source of calcium carbonate, good for strong teeth and bones. They include Omega-6 Essential Fatty Acid.

  • I have been feeding my two pugs BalanceDiet Supreme-V for almost a year. Before finding this food, I fed them the most expensive “natural” dog food I could find. My younger pug was always thin and prone to loose stools. Several hours after he ate, when we went to bed, he would stand on the bed and burp until he was comfortable enough to sleep. By the time we switched him completely over to BalanceDiet, he had no gas and loose stools. After about two months, he started filling out with good muscle tone. The pugs rarely have digestive problems or gas. They eat BalanceDiet and an occasional Solid Gold Lamb Jerky for a treat. We frequently travel with the pugs and can feed them BalanceDiet on the road with no problems. I constantly recommend this food to anyone when the discussion turns to dogs.

  • I breed and show Toy Manchester Terriers. The breed is a relatively healthy and long lived one, but notorious for poor coats. The average Manchester has virtually no hair on its throat, chest or belly. I have bred selectively for good coats, but the largest improvement in my dogs’ coats has occurred since I began feeding BalanceDiet Supreme about 14 months ago. The dogs now have hair everywhere any dog should! The coats are dense and truly black, and they shine like satin.

Judges have commented on the exceptional condition of my dogs. I use no grooming products at all on the coats, and the dogs rarely need to be bathed. The dogs’ stools have very little odor and are small and firm, perfect tootsie rolls. One of my dogs used to have frequent digestive upsets, but no more. I also feed raw chicken wings three times a week, and my dogs’ teeth are now white and virtually tartar-free with no brushing or professional cleaning. I believe that the enzymes in BalanceDiet complement the mechanical action of the raw bones in keeping the teeth and gums in such great condition.

I have now weaned several litters on BalanceDiet and can’t say enough about how pleased I am with the food for these babies. I grind the food slightly and mix it to a soupy consistency for the puppies, and they all eat it enthusiastically from the first time it’s offered. They gain well, keep coat better throughout the vaccination period, and have much better stools than on any other food I’ve ever used. I love this food!

  • Dear Ron:

I received the case of Supreme V Canine as ordered. Thanks for following-up on this order. I received it just in time. John was very helpful and answered many of my questions on the day I spoke with him.

During our discussion, I told you and John that I would be happy to write to you and let you know how much we like your product and how wonderful our dogs look. Here it is: We began using your product when both of our Manchester’s, Harley and Callie, were extremely ill. We had been feeding them California Natural for approximately four months. At the beginning both dogs were fine. Callie, our female, was the first to exhibit signs of discomfort. She had bad breath and gas problems. Next, our little male, Harley, began throwing up several times daily, along with diarrhea so bad he was bleeding. Then Callie joined in with the upset tummy. We called California Natural and asked if any changes had gone on with the product. We also sent samples for testing.

During the illness we made several trips to the Vet and several medications were prescribed. I began feeding my babies plain cooked chicken and rice. None of these things seemed to help. I was watching my little dogs literally waste away. I spoke to my breeder and she suggested I give your product a try.

I called, crying and upset. Your representative was very helpful. She sent out a box ofHarley, Callie & Dad Supreme-V via overnight delivery on the honor system that I would send a check for all shipping charges and food costs at the same time. I did so that day and to my surprise and happiness the next day I found a box of your product on my front door step.

After reading about your product, I did as suggested. I fed the dogs a regular meal, withoutintroducing small amounts over an extended period of time. Within hours my little dogs were running around, not throwing up and best of all, there were no signs of any upset tummies.

Now, one year later, my dogs are healthy happy and beautiful.Their teeth are white, with no tartar buildup, their coats shine, they are playful and happy. And, I could not be happier.

So, thanks for all your hard work, thanks for giving me great customer service, and thanks for making my dogs healthy again.

I have enclosed some pictures of these little angels. Hope you enjoy seeing them.

    Sincerely,

    Karen H.

  • I am the proud owner of two dogs, a one year old Dalmatian/Black Lab mix and a seven year old Maltese. Both have been eating BalanceDiet for the past year. Both dogs love the food and that’s not the best of it!

My Dalmatian/Lab went to be spayed at six months of age. I was told by several people to expect a lethargic, groggy dog after the surgery and for a while thereafter. Upon arriving at the vet to pick up my dog, I was greeted with a bouncing, energetic, alert dog and a stunned veterinarian staff. I attributed the difference to my dog’s diet. They were amazed.

Since eating BalanceDiet, my Maltese has shown incredible changes in her joints and muscular development. Prior to beginning BD, Josie (the Maltese) was fragile and joints popped continually. Now, her muscles are toned, she’s noticeably stronger, and it’s rare to hear a popping/slipping joint.

Thanks, nutriVet, for your fine quality food and dedication to the canine world!!

  • The following is an unsolicited article written by a customer.

Giant breed dogs have special nutritional needs — you have to consider 1) that they are dogs, and 2) that their bodies require special consideration because they grow so much faster, and have certain propensities for problems that medium, small, and toy breeds don’t have.

The first consideration is whether to feed canned or dry. Canned food is a waste of your nutritional dollars. For example, if you compare the ingredient list between a mid-priced canned dog food and that of a mid-priced dry dog food that lists meat as the first ingredient, you’ll see that you are able to feed less actual food and maintain the dog’s nutritional needs at the same time (you’ll appreciate this concept when cleaning up the toilet area). This is because the water is taken from the dry food — a cup of dry holds a lot more, nutritionally, than a cup of canned.

Next, consider the ingredient list. Personally, I believe that dogs require meat as a main source of their nutritional requirements. They are, in fact, carnivores, and meat provides a much more usable source of nutrients. So, I always make sure that the first ingredient listed is meat. But, there are many forms of “meat”, when you begin reading labels — I don’t like feeding my dogs things that would make me cringe if I were to find them on my own plate (at this point, it’s important to put aside the thought that, given the chance, there are many dogs that will eat feces — just because they’ll eat it, doesn’t mean it’s good for them!) So, the label should say “chicken”, “beef”, or “lamb”, rather than “chicken meal”, “chicken byproducts”, etc. These terms can (and often DO!!) mean just about anything — a better term would be “mystery animal product”. When feeding meats, also consider that dogs can have allergic reactions to meats (although it’s more likely the processing that causes the problem), so try to feed chicken or lamb, which have less chance of causing these problems. Organ meats are preferred over other sources — the liver, kidneys, etc. are much higher sources of nutrients than the chicken breast.

Consider, also, additives such as food colorings. Pretty food is not high on your Saint’s list of priorities — he doesn’t much care WHAT it looks like, so long as it smells and tastes like food. Dogs are, for the most part, color blind — those pretty colors are in there to make YOU feel better about what you’re feeding your dog. Those pretty colors have also been shown to contribute to food-related allergies and dermatitis. If you want him to have a nice shiny coat, lose the pretty colors in his kibble. Another major consideration in your pet’s overall health is the amount and kinds of preservatives used — do you really NEED for your Saint’s dog food to have a shelf life of 6 months? If you buy a 40-pound bag every week, your dog’s food only needs to make it from the store to the bowl. And, I’d rather not purchase food for my girls that has already spent 4 months sitting at the grocery store — I don’t much care for stale food, myself.

**Beware of MSG — Saints have an incredibly high rate (when compared to other breeds) of diagnosed seizure activity. MSG (a preservative) has been shown to cause seizures — how much of the epilepsy diagnosed in our dogs is actually a result of the commercial processing of their food??

St. Bernards have very specific nutritional needs — their bodies experience an explosive rate of growth over the first 18 months. Because of the rapid development of bone and muscle mass during this time, and the breed’s propensity for such problems as arthritis, OCD, and dysplasia, it’s important that these dogs receive protein and calcium in quantities that are just high enough to allow development. **Exercise in the right amounts AND UNDER THE RIGHT CIRCUMSTANCES is also a huge factor in the development of proper bone and muscle mass.** See the article on Noninvasive Therapies for Arthritis, OCD, and Dysplasia for more information on the role of exercise in treatment, and also the article on Obesity in Saints.

There is nothing wrong in adding variety to your dog’s diet, so long as the variety doesn’t cause obesity, or cause him to stop eating the main part of his diet — which should be kibble. My dogs get treats in training — bits of cheese, turkey hot-dogs, grapes, orange sections, sliced apple, popcorn, watermelon — if I’m eating it, chances are, I’m sharing. I do NOT buy “doggie treats” — I make treats for my dogs. I use recipes that don’t have many ingredients, and I like to know what they’re eating. They also get people food mixed into their kibble — this is NOT table scraps!! (For the record, my definition of “table scraps” are those items left at the end of a meal that no one would eat — my feeling is, if it’s not good for me, it’s not good for them!) This is people food, specifically prepared to highlight my dogs’ kibble — and, it’s MIXED IN, not just plopped on top. I mix in lots of different things, to add variety. Apple sauce, green beans, cottage cheese, peanut butter (a couple of tablespoons, microwave for 30 seconds — it’s very easy to coat each tiny piece of kibble, and they love this!) — try different things. Dogs have definite likes and dislikes, just as people do.

A word or two about processing: when foods are cooked, much of the available nutrients are lost. When you use higher quality foods, there is more available in the first place — the shorter the ingredient list, the better, and the less heat-processing, the better. Foods should be as close to their “raw” state as possible. This does cut down on the “shelf life” — but, as I stated before, exactly how long does your dog’s food need to sit there, anyway?

So, what does all this mean, in terms of what you should bring home for your dog? Generally speaking, you get what you pay for. If you feed an economy food, chances are there is very little in the way of usable nutrients available in what you’re feeding. This is an incredibly important concept, particularly when dealing with giant breeds! In feeding a mid-quality, low-cost commercial food, I was feeding a total of 14 cups daily to 2 14-month-old Saints. Since switching to a premium brand (BalanceDiet — ordered on-line, less processing, fresher, more available nutrients), my dogs are eating a total of 7 cups, daily. What this means, is that Cis, my very picky girl, is now getting what she needs in her diet. She just wasn’t interested in eating the amounts required, before. Now, she’s able to eat enough to satisfy her physiological needs, because it takes less. **An added bonus with feeding Balance Diet — it’s a “semi-moist” food, rather than dry. There are, then, 2 aspects of this food that are less likely to contribute to bloat — my dogs eat half as much, per meal, and the food doesn’t swell in their stomachs as much as dry does!

One last consideration — since they’re eating half as much, my cleanup time in the kennel has been cut in half! HALLELUIA!!

  • [Klia] had really gushy stools and they were a gray brown color. It’s been almost two weeks and they are a normal color (brown) and solid and she poops in one spot (remember me telling you that she used to have stools that traveled gooey and all sorts of colors) – so has she been detoxing? And when should I see darker stools also she only liked a little bit of food and now she likes it a lot and eats all at once. She used to eat a little at a time and never finish, it is so nice to see and hear her eat like a dog! Also I think I have my first customer so how do I get brochures?

    Thank you !!!!

  • Hi,

Just a letter to tell you how wonderful I think your product – BalanceDiet Supreme-V is!Prize-Winning Keeshonden with Proud Parents We breed, raise and show Keeshonden; this is a long, double-coated Nordic spitz breed and we currently have 4 of these guys enjoying the “good life” at our home.We believe that many of the health problems seen in today’s dogs are related to nutrition. Gone are the days when a dog was fed raw foods and a more “natural” diet… it just seems that with the advent of modem commercial dog foods I have noticed an increase in the incidence of what I call nutritional diseases in our pets. Skin problems, allergies, diarrhea, seizures, arthritis, lethargy, and unexplained temperament problems just to name a few.

Our oldest Keeshond (rescue puppy), 13, started having unexplained “idiopathic” seizures at about 5 years of age. Prior to that she had no incidents and we were somewhat perplexed at this problem. Of course, the vets were in favor of medication to control it, but we were certain it was something environmental causing them since she had not had the problem before. We checked the environment for the usual poisons and found nothing…then I remembered that we had changed her food about 2 months prior to the seizures starting. We were in the middle of moving and I couldn’t find her usual fare at the local stores. This was the beginning of our belief that we need to closely watch what we feed our pets.

We experimented with many different foods…some would work for a while, but it took another 2 years before we found the first food that stopped the seizures completely. It was Solid Gold. She remained seizure free on the Solid Gold for about 5 years, but I didn’t feel she had the same pep and energy as before the seizures. I also didn’t feel there was enough protein & fat in the food, but being afraid of starting her on another round of seizures we stuck with it by adding supplements and she did remain seizure free. Meanwhile, we had a young dog who as a puppy showed tons of energy and attitude, but as he approached his 1st birthday he started to act lethargic and just plain sad. His stools tended to be soft, not diarrhea, but constantly soft and he was definitely not his old self He had trouble handling stress and just seemed to be constantly “bummed out”. We had numerous medical tests run but everything came back “normal”. This went on for about 6 months and I was constantly researching food on the net and bought every book available on homemade diets. We made several changes and each change brought some improvement, but he still just wasn’t his old self Once again I suspected it was protein & fat that were missing or even a food allergy.

I did hours of research on animal nutrition and Keeshonden in particular. Being Nordic, they most probably had a higher protein intake (especially fish & fowl) with fewer grains not something you can easily find on the commercial market. I started researching on the net and talking with other Nordic breeders and found the BalanceDiet website. Skeptical at first (especially since I didn’t want to cause more seizures in our oldest) I ordered a case that was over a year ago and I’m totally sold on this product!

We’ve had NO seizures, coats are gorgeous, energy is through the roof and our little “sad” puppy? Well, he just won BOB at the local dog show actually he’s become his old obnoxious talkative self and we love it! I’ve recommended BalanceDiet to everyone I run across who has the slightest inclination toward a more natural diet because of the great results we’ve had with it. All four of our guys get BalanceDiet Supreme- V and I no longer feel the need to add all the supplements we were using before.

We had always had problems with what I call” gummy” teeth…where the plaque and tartar buildup quickly. This has completely disappeared with the Balance Diet. I don’t mind getting a big kiss from my guys anymore now that their breath and teeth smell so much better. It may just be my imagination, but they also seem to recover faster from stress and play injuries. Their stools are always firm making it much easier to clean up the yard and if you miss one, it will totally disintegrate within days. I couldn’t be happier with Balance Diet Supreme-V I like it so much I’m actually considering becoming a distributor for the product!

Awesome products …… excellent service ……. AMEN!

  • I just placed a young greyhound in an adoptive home in Brooklyn NY. These folks already have one greyhound, and this new addition will be in an active household and field sports are in her future. Guess what food these two are on now, yes, BalanceDiet and they are getting their food from the store in Brooklyn. The word on the proprietor of the shop is that he is very concerned and conscientious. A pleasure to deal with. Thought you would like to know. By the way, my [Velumin], Regale and Melliflous has arrived and the [Velumin] is an interesting product. My guys went bonkers when I uncapped it for a sniff and they all got was a sample. The jury is in and they approve unanimously – tastes good.

    – Karen L.

  • My name is Karen and I am the companion of 18 dogs. Most are greyhounds two are Italian greyhounds one is a whippet and one is a Labrador Retriever (she is a reminder to me why I choose to share my life with sight hounds). Many of the greyhounds are rescued racers that are alumni of the Greyhound Rescue Society, inc. http://webprime.com/grs/index.html which I founded more than 7 years ago. Along with a handful of dedicated volunteers, we have placed into responsible loving homes nearly 2,500 of these racing industry cast -offs. My canine family is mostly greyhounds that have either physical or mental disabilities which made them difficult to place. I admit to succumbing to an adorable puppy or more adoptable greyhound on occasion and have had tremendous success in the lure coursing field and show ring. I have never bred a litter of puppies but at the moment, I have one of my champion greyhounds in whelp to an important Canadian sire with pups due to whelp at the end of February, 1999. My family has always been involved with dogs and training/showing and rescue. I can honestly not remember any time growing up that we didn’t have multiple dogs either in training or awaiting a new home.

Becoming involved with Greyhound Rescue was a natural progression for me. My dad worked as a butcher and he would prepare vast quantities of organ meats for our German Shepherd Dogs which he would spoon lavishly over a biscuit kibble. Our dogs were always in fine coat and health but that was 40 years ago, before the barrage of additives and by products which dominate the prepared dog food that is now available. When I had my own home and my own pets, I did not want to feed them grocery store food. The Vet Hospital we used suggested Science Diet. The pup did not thrive on that. I found Eukanuba and supplemented with home cooking. Obsidian lived until just before her 17th birthday eating IAMS as her kibble, not bad for a Lab. When we became involved with the Rescue of Greyhounds, I kept the incoming, fresh off the track greyhounds on IAMS products, after all, don’t fix what is not broken, right? The adoption network grew and many other food companies were courting us. We have a newsletter and have been around the media a bit; besides the rescue, my husband and I had become active in the sport of lure coursing http://www.asfa.org/ASFA.htm a tremendously demanding athletic pursuit for the greyhounds and our whippet. Actually, all the sight hounds (Afghans, Basenjis, Borzois, Greyhounds, Ibizan Hounds, Pharaoh Hounds, Irish Wolfhounds, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Salukis, Scottish Deerhounds, Whippets and now some miscellaneous breeds like Azawaks and Sloughis and Italian Greyhounds) may compete as well.

Lure coursing had at once become an integral part of our dog’s life and we have been traveling around the country participating avidly. Ever since we began to compete in 1993, we have had a hound in the top ten winning countless best of breeds and best in fields with our dogs. We have won the National Greyhound Specialty 3 years to retire the Traveler Trophy. In 1995 and in 1996 we had the number 1 lure coursing greyhound in the country in the ASFA organization, with one of our dogs, FC Second Wind Black Comet, LCM 3 having the distinction of being ASFA’s lifetime #2 greyhound. Blacky had sustained a compound fracture and is no longer competing but was seriously worrying the 25 year record before her injury. She remains the AKC # 1 lifetime lure coursing greyhound. We had enjoyed great successes with our hounds and to switch our feeding program that had been established for nearly twenty years was a disruptive move to be sure. But I had been noticing unidentifiable bits in the kibble and some that I did recognize, white feathers! What was white feathers doing in my dog’s kibble? I sure as heck didn’t want to feed THAT to my hounds!

I began researching alternative foods. We had a very generous kennel plan with the IAMS Co. but becoming aware of byproducts and meat meal and ethoxoquin soon had me eager to switch. We discovered a natural food with “human grade” ingredients. Natura food products, including Innova and California Natural. We fed this food and recommended it for two years. We had some difficulty dealing with the distributor and trying to convince adopters to keep feeding the food we used was rather difficult when the food was virtually impossible to obtain. Shipping the food was cost prohibitive and most of the new owners simply found another food to feed to their new greyhounds. I had become less enchanted with the food, I was preparing more food for them and the amount of supplements that I included in the feeding routine was staggering. The most common complaint about the food from the adopters and me is that the dog’s stools were not firm and that the quantity of stool was noticeably more.

The adoption kennel is attached to our home but isolated from our pets. The kennel dogs are still eating the Natura products (at the next Greyhound Rescue Society board meeting the topic of what to feed will be the prominent issue, of course, I want to switch to BalanceDiet). We have taken the plunge and switched to BalanceDiet for our own hounds. I am not the sort of person who recommends anything unless I have test driven the product for a long time! So why am I raving about BalanceDiet after only 3 weeks? I will give you some reasons. First and most importantly, I feel that the ingredients are indeed the best most wholesome that is available to me for my hounds. Twinkies are “human grade” food but I would not feed that to my dogs nor to me for that matter. The ingredients in BalanceDiet are compatible with my hounds carnivorous nature. How do I know in just three weeks? I know by the change, the very noticeable change in my hounds. They love the taste, ok so they love the taste of french fries too, not the most important reason to switch. But I do have some finicky eaters. Second, the stools are at last firm and dark and because I scoop twice daily, I defiantly know there has been a reduction in volume. Still not enough of a reason to switch. Next, now this is the first indicator that the food is doing what it is meant to do, their breath! Greyhounds have what I affectionately refer to as “Zoo Breath”. We have their teeth professionally cleaned once a year, we use gauze pads soaked in peroxide and baking soda to “brush” their teeth, and I routinely buy beef marrow bones and freeze them (kills some pathogens) and give them raw to the hounds. After just three weeks of feeding BalanceDiet, we feed the Supreme with a dash of Liquid For Life on top, their breath has improved! Sunny, Queen Stinky, has become a welcome member of the petting brigade, her breath was the worst, it is now tolerable.

The most amazing thing that I have noticed in just three weeks is the increase in vitality. I have a 4 + year old bitch, M’S K Lofton, LCM2; I fell in love with her when she arrived at the kennel at age 15 months. This is a well bred (by NGA or racing greyhound standards) lovely blue bitch who was timid and although she schooled very fast, she was intimidated by close quarters and extremely shy of the starting box. She was a quiet, non demonstrative member of our pack. We dubbed her Miss Manors as she was very “flat” no personality to speak of. She is a very fast, accomplished lure coursing hound but exercising “Sadie” was always a chore. She epitomizes the moniker “couch potato”. I started to notice her interacting with the other hounds very soon after introducing her to the BalanceDiet; now Sadie is in trouble all of the time! She plays hard and her energy level has soared. It will be interesting to see how she will do when we begin to compete for 1999. It seems as though all of my hounds are becoming more energized. The idea that their coats would show a difference in such a short time is preposterous, but there it is, I notice some of them particularly the whippet Ch. Paris Diablesse Queen Margot, LCM. has become softer. More reson for the switch; picking up food from the distributor or being charged steep delivery fees had made dealing with the Natura company a chore; They deliver the food fresh to my door! The cost is comparable to a super premium food and actually, I think I will be paying less for a superior product once I get my quantities worked out.

The last and certainly not the least reason for my getting divorced from Natura company is the way that I am not important to them. My dealings thus far with them have been painless. I have questions and questions; they have been patient and has taken lots of time to answer them. Karen & SpakyThey are most accommodating but this is still the “honeymoon”, I will venture to guess that the folks at BalanceDiet are going to be my partner in the proper care and feeding of my hounds for years to come. I have found myself recommending the food to all of my doggie friends and I know that I will continue to do so. This is my first impression of BalanceDiet, the proof as they say will be in the pudding. More to come as we begin our competition this year.

    Sincerely,

    Karen

  • A few years ago we were hunting for a dog food to give our very finicky female. We tried Balance. It worked beautifully. Then our male, who would eat anything, received a test taste of Balance, after that he would step back from other food. It was only Balance for him!!

  • I have Been Using BalanceDiet for a few months now and have noticed a remarkable difference. I have four golden retrievers and two of them have had ongoing ear problems, constantly have medication prescribed by the vet. Since using the BalanceDiet food, the ears have CLEARED UP with no other medication! It is great. They also have gorgeous soft coats. This is by far the best food we’ve ever used.

    Thanks,

(The writer of this testimonial would prefer to remain anonymous.)

  • I wanted to write and tell your company how completely impressed I have been with the quality of your products, and how much they have already helped my dogs. I breed Golden Retrievers and had raised several litters on a professed all-natural, premium food. I had been a believer in the quality of it until two of my dogs developed some obvious signs of distress: terrible gas, chewing on the feet, chronic ear infections. I switched them to another “premium” food with similar results.

I was very intrigued when someone told me about the Supreme-V [line], and ordered it as soon as I read the website. Within a couple of weeks I noticed some very profound and delightful changes: they were not as hungry anymore, their breath smells sweet, the chewing stopped, no gas at all. And when I say they are not as hungry, I want to clarify that they love the food. When they do eat, they finish the bowl and that is something one of my dogs never did. They just don’t wake up starving, which indicates to me they are finally getting the nutrition they need.

And the icing on the cake was when I went out for my usually big job of cleaning up our yard. I looked and looked and found all of the stools had turned to ash and was just disintegrating. Then I really knew that my dogs were fully digesting and utilizing the food. I have actually been selling another line and will not feed my dogs that food any longer. I am really looking forward to our first litter that will be raised on BalanceDiet. And my oldest dog has actually become quite noticeably more playful. I am really happy I found you!

    – Cindy

  • I am writing to thank you for making such a wonderful dog food. I have four Golden Retrievers who have been on the Supreme-V for 5 months and are doing great on it. Two of the pups were having a terrible time on other premium foods, chromic ear infections, gas and terrible scratching. I was going to try raw foods, but my one girl refused any raw meat I tried to give her. I was at my wits end when I found your food.

At first I was nervous about the cost, but within a few weeks I noticed a profound change. They were no longer starving when they woke up in the morning! They now seldom eat before noon, and are eating exactly half what they were on their previous feed. My male was always hard to keep the weight on as he hunts and runs off leash every day. He is a steady 80 lbs. now.

There is a noticeable improvement in their breath, and the yard clean up is unbelievably easy to take. Half the mess with no odor!

I have been a distributor for another food for two years and it was not easy for me initially to make this switch. I bought the other food for wholesale price and had believed in it. I now realize what truly good nutrition is for dogs, and that there is no other product out there that comes close to this line. I thought the Supreme-V was the end-all then I tried the Aura. My dogs inhale it! They now get both, and I cannot wait to have our first litter and raise them on this food.

    – Cindy

  • Since May of 1998, my dogs have benefited from the improvements of BD Supreme, now know as Supreme-V. Their eyes and coats continue to gleam but after using the Velumin for just a short time, added to the BD, their coats GLOW even more than I thought was possible. Now at the ages of 2, 5, 7 and 10..they all still have great sleek, muscled bodies and wonderful energy.

    Thank you nutriVet!

    – Ann & Dobes

  • We have only been using BD Supreme for a short time, but have noticed a marked improvement in our dogs coats! We have 5 German Shepherds ranging in age from 3 years to 11 years. Even the one blowing her coat is shiny!! She doesn’t have that “blown” look! Everyone loves the taste, even my finicky competition dog, who has been very hard to please in the dinner department all his life. I even use the kibbles for “go out” bait when we are training for utility and he runs to the target! I use BD as treats for the clients dogs I’ve trained, they love it too! Have read several testimonials that say you really need to wait 6 months before you make a determination on what this food has done for your dogs. We have a few more months to go, it’s exciting to try and picture what everyone could look like by then! Everyone, especially John, has been very helpful and patient with all my questions and requests. I look forward to a long relationship with this company!

  • A few months ago I began researching various types of dog food in hopes of finding something that was more “natural” and fresher than the current premium dry food that I was feeding my dog Sam. He is a five years old shepherd/husky mix who has had episodes of regurgitation on any almost weekly basis since he was a puppy. It was not always food that he regurgitated; sometimes it was just a lot of mucous or foam. Also, about once or twice a week, he would lose his appetite and skip meals, usually a morning feeding.

Unfortunately, when he was still a young dog, 1 to 1 1/2 years old, I began feeding him a so-called premium dry food. He seemed to do okay on it for a while until I was sold a batch that was made with tainted lamb. Not knowing why he was refusing to eat and because he had a history of vomiting, I continued feeding this food for several days. It finally occurred to me to discontinue the food and look for another brand. I began feeding a new dry food but he still had days when he would refuse to eat, and sometimes he just acted like he didn’t feel very good. When I found your web site and read the descriptions of your products I decided that I had finally found a really true “premium” dog food. I placed my first order for Ultra Premium in March 2000 and Sam has not skipped a meal since he started eating it. He has only regurgitated mucous once and food once in three months. He has trimmed down to his optimum weight and acts like he feels good all the time. I am so happy to have found a product that is easy to feed but is so much fresher than anything else without having to handle totally raw food.

    Thanks so much.

    Sincerely,

    Jackie M.

  • Please print this e-mail up and put it on John’s desk on top of the pile. I think he’ll want to see it as it contains, first of all, my humblest apologies to both him and you for doubting how great your product really is.

I opened the TenderGrind this morning as you suggested and he literally wolfed it down. My picky finicky Bearded Collie who has to be forced to eat!!!!!! I probably gave him more than the suggested amount, but he licked the bowl clean to our shock and happiness.

Last night we opened the [Kickshaw] treats and he dropped the first two so I opened the jar to put them back in, and the next thing I know, he’s eating them right out of the jar!!!!!!

The Miracle of Fermentation is TRULY a miracle in this home. I will be your biggest advocate and smallest critic in the future.

Again, I APOLOGIZE profusely for busing your chops about my order. I now know that it is worth waiting for. Thank you very much. I will be singing your praises to all dog owners everywhere!

    – Laurie

  • A friend recommended [BalanceDiet] to me. After reading your web page, I decided to try it on two of my Dobermans. One bitch has Doberman hepatitis, and the other bitch has diabetes. The current thinking on Dobe hepatitis is a portal vein hypertension. After one month on the Balance, my liver bitch’s ALT is down to 67 and ALK Phos, is cut in half. My diabetes bitch insulin requirement has been lowered from 18 units-twice a day to 14 units-twice a day plus it’s the best she’s looked & felt in several years. I currently have 8 Dobes and … have been supplementing the other 6 with BalanceDiet. A wonderful product.

    Thank you so much!

    – Barbara G.

  • I just wanted to drop you a note to thank you for creating the best dog food in the world. This is not an exaggeration; you dog food has transformed our dogs. Their coats are unbelievably shiny, they are healthy and I only wish that I could look half as good as them! In fact, one of our main concerns is: what we would do if you ever went out of business??? I have been a dog owner for over 20 years, and have tried every product on the market: Science Diet, etc. Nothing comes close to your product!

I am sure that your product will not only improve the quality of our dogs lives, but also the length of time that we are blessed to have them with us. Our dogs are our children, so this means more than you can know.

Thank you so much for creating such an awesome product!

    – Dr. Belle Rose R.

  • I’ve been feeding BD to my four ESS’s for 5 months now……the changes in my dogs have been remarkable!!!!!!!!

My dogs range in age from 14 months to almost 9 years. The 9 year old has always had really crummy skin. He has had staph infections, yucky ears, itchy scratchies you name it he’s had it. For almost a year I fed totally raw, well at the time we had 6 dogs, including a litter of puppies….it was too much so I started switching around to various “premium” (read expensive) kibbles. His skin kept getting worse and worse. We did food allergy tests, etc. The other dogs were doing reasonably well on what ever I fed them, but one always looked bloated, one didn’t eat real well very finicky, the puppies….well they were puppies what can I say.

Finally I was about to switch back to all raw as we had gotten back down to a manageable number of dogs. I was on a dog list where Balance Diet was mentioned. I thought well this would be my last try before going back to raw.

In 2 weeks the male’s skin cleared up. Then he went thru a detox like I’ve never seen before!!!!!!! From gooey, crusty skin, to weepy yucky eyes, loose mucousy stools and smell….wow! After the initial 2 weeks the skin started clearing up, first inside his hindlegs then all over his body. Now after about 5 months he has the cleanest, clearest skin that he’s had since he was a 3 week old puppy! His coat is shiny and has that healthy oily feel that most Sporting dogs have. His ears are also clear and clean.

These changes are very drastic, but indicative of the changes I’ve seen in the others. Gone are the red stains between the toes, gone is the bloated overweight look. The puppies (young adults actually now) have actually put on bone density that wasn’t there before.

As for your claim of 20# lasting as long as a 35# bag, mine is now lasting about 3 days longer. These are very active dogs. Some in training for obedience, some for field work and actively showing. These dogs don’t sit around. They are busy constantly.

I can’t tell you how happy I am with this food. I know it’s not for everyone, but you have a customer for life! I’m tired of having to change foods because a company decides to change the formula (for whatever reason) I sure hope this doesn’t happen with your food.

Any time you want an endorsement, just let me know I’ll be happy to provide you with one. I’d be happy to include a “We feed BalanceDiet” in any of our ads that we do for the dogs. We do advertise extensively and have a website where this can be included.

Maybe we could make arrangements that would be benefical to both parties.

Again thank you for your great food!

    Barb

“Specializing In Show Dogs That Work For A Living!”

  • I recently placed an order through your company for my dog & I agreed to tell my dog’s story so visitors to your website could know how & why I became such a devoted customer:

My Pembroke Welch Corgi, Maggie, who is 9yrs old, has eaten your dog food a little over a year now. She has had a serious problem with her digestive system for about 6yrs. Her Texas vet ran all kinds of tests for parasites, disease & pancreatitis, without any positive results. When I moved to brooklyn, her New York vet did the same tests, unsuccessfully. She has tried several special diets recommended by these vets, but her symptoms of throwing up yellow pheghm & having bowel movements of partial or at times, ‘pure’ blood in ‘cyclical’ repetition worsened no matter what the vets recommended.

One day, in Brooklyn, I went into “V.C. Pet Store” on Ninth Street. I was desperate for a solution for, what seemed to me, to be a potentially life threatening situation for maggie. The owner told me about your ‘BalanceDiet’ Dog Food being “all natural” & not having any grain fillers (i.e. rice hulls). I bought some on a trial basis &, to make a long story short, Maggie has not had one episode of her digestive problem & no bloody discharge since she began to eat BalanceDiet.

I do not claim to have discovered the exact cause of her problem, but………. I do believe that changing her to “BalanceDiet” has improved the quality of life & might have even saved her life!! I thank the owner of “V.C. Pet Store” in Brooklyn & most of all, your company! I hope your company will always be available to order food for Maggie & all other dogs in my future. I only wish vets would begin to realize the value of your product & recommend it to help other pets.

    Sincerely Your Lifelong Customers,

    – Patsy & Maggie, the Corgi

  • I own a 3-year-old Bouvier Des Flandres. He was on a commercial diet for the first two years of his life but suffered digestive problems during this time. His weight did go to 80 lbs., however, he also suffered from various skin disorders. I decided to experiment with other “natural” diets. During this time, his weight dropped to 69 lbs. and he began to get bald spots from scratching. I decided to try BalanceDiet. Since March, he has gained back his weight and is now 76 lbs. His coat is lustrous and full and his bald spots have been covered up. His energy level is up and he no longer suffers from any problems. I wish I had discovered BalanceDiet earlier but I’m glad I was patient. The wait was certainly worth it!

    – Karen P.

  • I just had to tell you how much I love BalanceDiet. My vet recommended it and as a “human being” I believe that what I eat really is what I am and fuels me, so it only seemed sensible that the food for the dogs would be equally as important. I did not realize just how much it would change things for them. They actually smell better, They have no ear infections, their energy level is better and they really love the food. They also have not spit up one time and that used to be a daily habit. They are two big beautiful yellow labs and I really believe this will extend their lives.

    Thanks to the inventor!

    – Judy A., Bo & Max

  • My dogs are looking just splendid; they are in the best condition and coat that I have ever seen.

Young Atom “Winds Ariel Square Four” just went Best of Breed over specials! He is just 1 year old and has been eating BD all of his life. That is his sister Red in the photo “Winds Ariel Red Hunter” she is waiting for her brother to finish in the show ring before she competes seriously. Both are beginning their lure-coursing careers and are showing great promise.

We finished in the top ten again this past year with both of the dogs we were competing. Karen & SpakyThis year we are starting with 4 dogs. Sadie is my veteran and is still running great. I guess they have the right fuel!

  • Hovawart

The Hovart ia a German dog breed. The name of the breed means “an estate guard dog,” which is the original use for the breed. The breed originated in the black Forest region and was first described in text and paintings in medieval times. Wikipedia

    Origin: Germany
    Higher Classification: Dog
Temperament: Even Tempered, Watchful, Reserved, Active, Familia,Devoted
    Height: Male: 25-28 inches (63 – 70 cm),Female: 23 – 26 inches (58-65 cm)
    Colors: Black & Gold,Blond, Black
    Weight: Male: 55.1-88.2 lbs (25-40kg), Female: 55.1-88.2 lbs (25-40kg)

In our household we raised Richie, a Miniature Schnauzer, born in April 1995, and Callie, a Hovawart Lady, born in December of the same year.

Richie had always been a very finicky eater, coming to his bowl only after a lot of coaxing and than with a hanging head and shoulders, never enjoying his food nor eating it all. I tried many brands of kibble spiked with chicken, lamb, beef or fish, canned chicken, fresh carrots, yogurt, cut up pecans and the like. I never seemed to be able to please him.

Now – Callie, our big girl, she likes to eat! yet from the get go she has had bowel troubles – loose stool, diarrhea and constipation both at the same time. Terrible! Because of her I tried to cook the meals from scratch with millet, brown rice, raw oats in chicken broth, nothing seemed to help. Our vet was asked every time we saw him, no help from him either. Every night at least twice I had to get up to let her out and even then she sometimes had an accident in the house which was terrible for her and us.

Our turn for the better came when I saw an article in “The Whole Dog Journal” (November 1999) in which they introduced innovative dog foods. I studied the write-up very thoroughly, BalanceDiet Supreme-V impressed me most.

The conversation on the phone with you was very infomative and convinced me even more to place an order and give Supreme-V a try. The boxes arrived and with the first meal the eating habits of Richie changed completely. He now comes to the kitchen when I fill the bowls and needless to say, he eats every morsel I put out forhim. And Callie – well, you can guess it – the diarrhea and loose stools are a thing of the past, wonderful for all of us.

After finishing the first box with such good results, our Hovawart Lady Callie found a little Beagle puppy in the nearby park where we take our dogs for daily walks and romps. When on the 2nd morning walk the puppy was still lying in the same spot of a dry creek, we just had to take him home. But let me tell you, we had never seen anything like it. He was stinking to high heaven. It took us 2 hours to give him a medicinal bath and comb out all those enormously big fleas and free him of ticks. That same afternoon our Bet judged him by his teeth to about 4 months old. His belly was bloated not with food but with all worms possible. His legs were so weak he wasn’t able to run away from us. The ribs would be counted from afar, poor Beagle, he was a sick puppy! With the help of the Vet we dewormed him, got him going on the vaccination schedule and at home offered him daily 3 small meals of Supreme-V Kibble.

We named him “Burnsie” as we found him in “Burns Park”! After two weeks we saw the Vet again and in that short period of time he had gained 6 lbs with no more worms, no longer anaemic and was altogether a different dog, with just the right size of moisture content of the Supreme-V Kibble it was easy for him to eat even though he is loosing his first set of teeth rapidly. He now eats twice a day Supreme-V.

So, ours is a wonderful success story and I am eager to place my 2nd order now. You have fully convinced me with Supreme-V Kibble BalanceDiet and I would like to go one step further this time and add the Enzyme Supplement Velumin which you also offer.

Thank you very much for inventing such wonderful canine food and supplement, it is very much appreciated by all of us.

    Kindest Regards,

    Elisabeth D.

  • My name is Heather and I have had dogs all of my life. I am the “black sheep” of the family as the rest of them view dogs as farm animals that need to be kept outside. How sad. I, fortunately, have been given the ability to see a dog for the true soul they are. In my years of owning dogs, and grooming them, I have seen many come and go, always with waning health in the last couple years of their life. Not to mention the numerous dogs I would see with chronic skin and allergy problems. I started to research and explore alternatives to our “normal” way of doing things in hopes of finding the “fountain of youth”. Of course I know none exists, but after talking with elderly family members and hearing their “farm” dogs lived far longer than the dogs I took spectacular care of… well… something was definitely wrong. In my endeavors I came across a groups of people that fed raw and gave alternative health care in place of conventional.

After A LOT of researching and experimentation, I have come to BalanceDiet. I had tried the BARF diet with my crew of 5 resident dogs and the rescures that come through my door from the Australian Shepherd Rescue League (ARPH). After seeing 2 of them deteriorate on the BARF diet, I switched them to BalanceDiet. I am more than thrilled with the results and so is my husband, the skeptic. 🙂 I am now in the process of switching the rest of the dogs over to BalanceDiet, as well as, all the rescues that come in. I am dedicated to my dogs. They are my life. They give me more fulfillment than anything else on earth ever could. I will do whatever it is I feel is the best for them. And, after trying numerous things, I have found that BalanceDiet is working the best. Of course, I also have to sing the raises of alternative Veterinary and Human care. My homeopathic vet had plainly stated numerous times that a dog can handle most things as long as it is healthy and that starts with the diet. So, I wanted to let the people who stop by here know the success I have had with this food.

AND, to add one more small triumph…I recently rescued a hedgehog that was in terrible shape. VERY dry skin, miserable… even wobbly when she walked. Not knowing anything about them, except to feed them cat food, I was lost. Seeing as how I won’t feed ANY animal a commercial kibble diet, I started feeding her BalanceDiet dog food. What a change!!!! Her skin looks great, she is walking much better and she eats with a ferocity only a hedgehog could!!! I am MORE than thrilled with the results.

  • Hello,

I began feeding my dogs BalanceDiet only one month ago and I am so amazed by the changes I’ve seen in all three dogs (a 5 year old Shepherd mix, a 3 year old Belgian Kaelin’s Shepherd, Belgian Malinois, and Toy Fox TerrierMalinois and a 1 year old, 5 lb Toy Fox Terrier mix) that I felt I had to share my experiences.

I was a dedicated Solid Gold customer for many years and prior to that I fed Innova. I was considering a home-prepared diet but I had some concerns: Could I be sure my dogs where getting the proper nutrients? Was raw meat safe? Could I fit the lengthy preparation time into my schedule? Then a friend recommended BalanceDiet. After considerable research I decided to try it.

I always wanted to use a Chicken based food but in the past my five year old has only been a to tolerate Lamb and my one year old could only tolerate a fish based food. I am pleased to report that from day one none of my dogs have experienced any problem with BalanceDiet Supreme-V Chicken.

The results have been incredible. After only three weeks I noticed the following changes:
    1) Increase in muscle tone.
    2) Increase in coat softness and shine – which I thought couldn’t have been any better.
    3) Increase in energy level – my five year old has always had low energy (I used to refer to her as a couch potato). This is no longer the case.
    4) Improvement in oral hygiene.
    5) Decrease in stool volume – the foods I have fed in the past all made this claim but I never found it to be true.

With such amazing changes in such a short time I can only imagine what the long-term effects will be.
